Review of Mohenjo Daro (2016) by Arkaprabha M — 20 Aug 2016
With Mohenjo Daro, Ashutosh Gowariker sets a whole new benchmark in screwing up history in the worst possible way. I mean, even if I overlook the weird albeit similar to contemporary romance between Hrithik and Pooja(which by the way is a blatantly ripped off concept from Pompeii starring Kit Harington), the fact the Mohenjo Daro was flooded by a ruptured dam and an overflowing river is totally not how historians put it.
The city was abandoned in the 19th century BCE due to the decline of the entire Indus Valley Civilization. With cricket in Lagaan, a super model Akbar and now totally altered historical facts - the director continues to be a disappointment.
