Review of Modern Vampires (1998) by John T — 28 Jul 2008
Richard Elfman and Matthew Bright make a wonderful and deeply sleazy team. While this movie is terribly mismarketed as a BUFFY/BLADE rip-off, this movie seems to make fun of the Anne Rice school of sexy goth vampires.
Everything about this movie is so absurd and rediculous, it's almost impossible to take any given scene seriously. If you're looking for a movie to watch while getting drunk with friends, this is an excellent choice.
I'm shocked that this movie hasn't found the same cult following as Elfman's earlier film, FORBIDDEN ZONE. Ah well, it's a diamond in the rough, I love movies like this.
