Review of Modern Times (1936) by Timothy D — 10 Sep 2009
What a fantastic classic.
There are too many great things too tell about this movie.
For me the rhythm of the movie and the editing are still so modern.
A lot of old movies suffer from a lack of rhythm.
In a world where everything is clipped-edited today this movie doesn't suffer at all from this ennoying old fashionned slow timing.
The subjects are just timeless.
A great feeling of humanity emanates from this film.
All the blunders and bloops of the tramp are ajusted with a wonderfull precision and never leave a feeling of vulgarity.
Such a precious movie.
What a poet. What a visionary man.
