Review of Modern Times (1936) by John E — 20 Apr 2010
Classic Chaplin in his final silent film. The relative lack of plot is ignored quickly by the audience thanks to a barrage of gags and the film's short run time. Some of his most inventive stuff can be found in this film, and his social commentary is remarkably relevant today --perhaps even more than when the film was released.
If you don't like silent slapstick, I feel sorry for you; otherwise, go see this movie.
