Review of Modern Times (1936) by Tyler H — 26 Dec 2010
It's kind of odd that this movie is silent even though cinema seems like it should have been past the silent era in 1936. It's also odd that Charlie Chaplin sings in some kind of gibberish language, but that was the most enjoyable part.
In any case, this film is truly fantastic and worth repeat viewings. While Charlie Chaplin has become a horrible Hollywood cliche, there is no denying his films are usually phenomenal and stand up well to the test of time.
Was he snorting coke in the "nose powder" scene?
