"Modern Times" has a scene that I watched and rewatched maybe 6 times after seeing the movie. It involves the Tramp working in a factory and some men that developed a machine that allows workers to be fed by it and waste less time on lunch. The Tramp ( played by Charlie CHaplin) is chosen to teste the machine and what happens next is pure comedic genious. In fact, this whole movie is a comedic masterpiece.

Charlie Chaplin prooves once again why he was so good on what he did. He stars as the classic Tramp, who is working in a factory, and we see how much he is fed up by it. He leaves the factory and after an accident the Tramp will see that the changes that happen to his life, are part of a gigantic change process. ( I don't want to give too much away because it's really worth seeing).

The last movie of the silent era, "Modern Times" is just one of those films that didn't get lost through time. The comedy is still pretty damn fresh and it can touch everyone, probably as it was back in 1936. And this is what is more amazing about it ( and the other Chaplin movies too). Now matter what year you watch this, the comedy is hilarious and the movie works, it just does.

I confess that I haven't watch many Chaplin movies but I know how fun they are to watch. "Modern Times" is no exception. Charlie CHaplin didn't just make one of the most hilarious and wonderful movies. He made one that is charming, brilliant and not only as a positive message but also a great satire to the time lived during it's production. Chapin was a terific actor and comedian so when it's time to be hilarious, he truely shows how to. When it's time to be emotional, he pretty much shows us to. The humour doesn't seem forced and I have to say that I feel connected with it in some ways.

"Modern Times" is masterpiece where everything works. The satire works, the comedy works, the story works, etc...

Chaplin created a piece tha will remain eternal.
