"The Tramp CAN'T talk. The minute he talks, he's dead.".

Well, the tramp sings...and it's brilliant. I woke up one morning and I started humming that gibberish tune he sang in the movie and I thought to myself, "I GOTTA watch that movie again." Gosh. Where do I even begin? This movie had me guffawing to my knees and had filled me with joy. At the same time, I felt sorrow. But it was a sweet sorrow. Chaplin was the master at melding those two emotions together and it is apparent in all his films.

I love the final scene, it was so fitting that the film ended that way. It was heartfelt, exposed and poignant like no other. I also love that beautiful song, "Smile". Just when you're about to tear up, it seems like Chaplin is talking through the song, "Chin up.".
