Just another disney princess movie ? Wrong. The movie Moana captures so much more than the usual boy saving the damsel and distress girl. This movie shows that one of the most important parts of being human is to have a dream and to follow the dream.

In the movie Moana, what is depicted is female empowerment, bravery, sacrifice, confidence and leadership. This movie is sort of a pick me up, it shows that even when life gets tough don't give up because one can accomplish so much greater than one believes.

This movie teaches a person to be themselves to follow their dream no matter how wild it can be because you should be "who you were meant to be" as grandma Tala says. A strong role model for girls moana happens to be, as the female lead, Moana is different from most other disney princess movies because she does not need to be saved in fact she is the one saving, she is the hero, and this can teach girls/women that they too can be there own hero.

Moana is and important movie for little girls growing up as it shows little girls that in fact they do not need to be saved by a boy and are capable of saving themselves. In the movie, Moana is a intelligent, strong, encouraging, and brave girl who continues on a hard path of traveling across the sea to restore the heart of Te fiti and save the world.

Throughout the movie, Moana saves the chicken Heihei from drounding she saves Maui from tamatoa, she saves Maui from Te fiti, and she saves Maui from his own harsh thoughts of himself, she saves Te fiti and she saves the world the list of accomplishments are not limited to just these as she is a hero.

In arguably the most iconic scene in the movie, Moana restores Te fiti's heart this scene will put you on the edge of your seat as it shows all of the beautiful characteristics in this movie that is just under two hours.

Moana a movie that is hopeful and comedic and not just another disney princess movie. If one is wondering what it may take a person to want to watch this movie it could be anything as this movie carries a beautiful message, that should be heard.
