Review of Moana (2016) by Miss B — 07 Mar 2017
As a woman who grew up with Disney, I had high hopes for this film going in. I've always loved the Disney Princesses, but only in the last decade have they been portrayed with more personality and imperfection than their earlier predecessors (Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc.). Moana was an answer to that call. This film was incredibly heart-felt and engaging with many throwbacks to the things we loved about the classic Disney films, so it can appeal to old and new Disney fans alike.
The Bottom Line:
This film was absolutely wonderful, and enjoyable for both the young, and more seasoned viewers in the audience. It's got adventure, comedy, emotion, and passion; and the perfect amount at that.
Big-Screen, Buy-It, Rent-It, Pass?
