Review of Mission: Impossible III (2006) by Kevin K — 21 Apr 2012
Easily the best in the series up to this point. When compared to the first and second entries in the franchise, the third simply blows them away. The pacing is perfect, the suspense works and the action is satisfying. The plot isn't anything to speak of, but is it ever? Fairly simple and easy to follow, this movie is pure entertainment without insulting the viewer's intelligence.
Whereas the attempts at humor in the first and second installments failed miserably, Simon Pegg does a great job at adding some lighthearted moments throughout the chaos.While his character was unneeded, he was entertaining.
This is a very watchable film and is still entertaining 6 years later. It's too bad that I can't say the same for the previous two films in the series.
