Review of Mission: Impossible III (2006) by Amanda C — 06 Jan 2013
Mission: Impossible II boasts possibly the best cast ever in an action flick. Unfortunately for them, the script borders on ridiculous to the point that not even Phillip Seymour-Hoffman can completely save it.
That is kind of the point of Mission Impossible, however, and at least it acknowledges the absurdity. The self awareness and slightly self deprecating humour help to elevate M:i:III above the standard action fare that we've become accustomed to.
At least it has a semblance of a brain. As such it's not a great film by any stretch, but it's an entertaining way to waste a couple of hours.
