Under the usually reliable direction of J.J. Abrams, the sweet, eye-popping stunts and intense action sequences make "M: I-3" better than the first two films and offers not only a thrilling performance by Tom Cruise, but even a better performance by its villain, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
