Review of Mission: Impossible II (2000) by Matthew S — 12 May 2012
After a decent first outing, MI2 derails the series with zero-intelligence action porn. The whole thing is beyond absurd, a John Woo parody directed by John Woo himself - laughably OTT stunts, two-pistol gunplay, flying doves and so much slow motion the film would last about 15 minutes without it - all set to grandpa 'rawk' music.
The lowest point has got to be the motorbike stand off between Cruise and Dougray Scott, who should be thoroughly ashamed of himself. Dire.
