Review of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) by Joel S — 29 Jun 2013
Fun, fun, fun. I only saw the first MISSION IMPOSSIBLE and bits of 2 and 3, and found it all very boring, but MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL is thrillingly directed with a solid storyline. I also like that they follow the key ingredient of the TV show more than the other films by the focusing on the group dynamic of undercover agents rather than the star known as Tom Cruise.
He's super, as is everyone else. I usually dislike Simon Pegg but they use him wonderfully. He adds just a touch of humor to the proceedings without becoming overwhelming--a little Pegg goes a long way.
So all in all, fun fun fun at the bijou. One complaint, too long. They could easily tighten this picture up and come in at about 1:50. Then it would be a damn near perfect night at the movies.
