Review of Mission Impossible (1971) by Campbell P — 11 Feb 2015
Mission Impossible! The movie that started the popcorn film franchise. Mission Impossible stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, a IMF agent that's sent to a mission in Prague that goes horribly awry and is blamed for the deaths of his team.
From then on we get some awesome action and suspenseful moments. Especially from the air vent scene! That part in the movie has my eyes glued to the screen. If a scene is that suspenseful that I can't take my eyes off the screen I give props to the filmmakers.
Unfortunately at some points in the movie I was lost in detail. The whole Job thing really didn't really need to be in here and you had to think back on the actual character's names. Like when he said Kitteridge did something I was thinking who is that? The I remembered but the point is I want to have that name glued in my head while watching.
There was a lot of cool scenes in this movie but some were like really? That can't happen. I like it sometimes when a movie bends the reality of a situation but the were some moments where I just couldn't get past that this really is impossible.
Although it was pretty entertaining! Tom Cruise was great, he over acted at times but he was still good. The other characters were good too, I knew how they acted and the bad people really did look smug like a bad guy should be.
Overall Mission Impossible was a bit confusing at parts and they went a bit overboard with some scenes in terms of reality but it's a pretty good action movie and I look forward to watching the sequels.
