Review of Miss Sloane (2016) by Jared T — 13 Dec 2016
These half heroic, half tragic character movies often walk a fine line with regards to being tragically miserable failures themselves.
An overall fun if awkwardly abrasive journey thanks to Chastain's brightness, creativity, and energy. Chastain exists to play over the top leads like this and she does a solid work here. In the end, I enjoyed this abrasive character and fell in love with her crazy story a little. Now that I know the story I already want to see it again.
(The movie gravely threatens to be a political preach-fest, on the topic of gun control, which almost ruined it for me, but but overall ends up being somewhat neutral. Try to suspend political thought during the movie.).
