Review of Miss Sloane (2016) by Wayne M — 03 Feb 2018
Miss Sloane is the sort of film that seemingly has everything in place but then really goes nowhere. It moves a long at a cracking pace but just feels rather empty. Jessica Chastain though is superb as the hard boiled Washington lobbyist in her sordid tale of lobbying and backdoor politics.
But she is let down by a rather ordinary script. It tries really hard to be Aaron Sorkin but doesn't have his wit or inspiration. Instead we have scene after scene of 'clever' dialogue that in the end frustrates rather than illuminates.
