Review of Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008) by Bill B — 13 May 2009
Its a comedy with very good actig performances and superb sets. I ve heard many postives about this one and its in general high rated, so I had some expectations that it never reached. Its has some moments but in general in not the typical make me laugh to death comedy. But I has something rare. It shows throught comedy the cruel face of the women towards the men. And this is something we dont see it very often. Mcdormand is ofcourse giving a memorable performance.
PLUS: Acting performances, Art directing and Sets, Subtext.
MINUS: Story, pace, predictable.
BEST SCENE: Pettigrew just arived in the house where she supposed tobe a nanny.
PETTIGREW: I saw your boy... Its much a bigger boy that I have expected.
DELYSIA: Oh...you noticed :).
