Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) by Isabel J — 05 Jun 2017
After reading the first book back in 2013 I though if this were to adapted to film there could only be 1 man for the job. Tim Burton, although thinking back I believe I was thinking more spacifically '99 Burton. Like much of his recent work he seems to have lost himself trying please the movie audience of todays generation and well he completely lost the creepy or more apropiately he lost that percuilar feel this movie needed. As for its adaptation of the book if you want to call it that, was completly lost for me.
If you've read the books I guarantee whatever image your imagination has worked up is far better then this film. If reading isn't your foretay and you know you won't be picking the book up for curiosity sake (which I'd strongly suggest you do) then this film may just be a good choice for a friday movie night with the kids.
