Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) by Jacob B — 26 Oct 2016
Tim Burton has directed a movie that held promise and could have been something great, but in the end, it fails to deliver. While the 'peculiars' have interesting stories and traits, the performance of them at times seems to fall flat.
This is without even thinking about the monsters and 'evil peculiars', which feel so wooden, 2D, and stereotypical. This movie won't leave you disappointed per say, but it won't be what you were all hoping for.
What it does well is countered by the bad. It could have been so much better, but this is what we are left with.
