Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is a fantasy movie released in 2016 based on the novel, "Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar Children," written by Ransom Riggs. The movie is about a boy named Jake.
Jake's grandfather, Abe, told Jake highly detailed bedtime stories when he was a young boy. The stories consisted of people with special powers, and their enemies with special powers. Jake's grandfather would show Jake the same Polaroid pictures of each individual person along with the stories.
As Jake got older, his grandfather began to suffer from dementia. Jake soon found him on his last breath in the woods with his eyes missing from his head. As Jake's grandfather took his last breath, he told Jake to go to the island, find Miss Peregrine and she will explain everything.
Jake soon discovered that the clues his grandfather left him where clues that eventually lead him to Miss Peregrine's home, where he meets many children with all different special powers. The mystery deepens throughout the movie as Jake discovers his own peculiarity.
Ultimately, Jake discovers his own peculiarity will save the lives of his new friends.
