Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) by Xander K — 13 Jan 2017
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would! It's fun and quite visual. With Tim Burton directing it, it has that great creepy factor, and dark undertones. It does have some very intense scenes, probably too scary for younger kids.
It's like steampunk/Victorian-style X-Men, crossed with a bit of Harry Potter-type magic, a dash of the Lemony Snicket series and a healthy heaping dose of Neil Gaiman.
