Review of Miss Congeniality (2000) by Movie K — 02 Feb 2010
Sandra Bullock scores well in this movie. She is funny and pretty. Enjoyable flick. She is an FBI agent who doesn't have much ladylike etiquette. In the beginning mission, the bad guy choked on a peanut but she ignore orders to stand still and save him, then got held at knife point.
The mayhem cause one of the team mate to get shot. After wraping up, Benjamin Bratt was chosen by the chief Ernie Hudson to head a new task. A mysterious person keep sending out threats with clues hidden.
It will be the Miss USA pagent that will get attack. Searching high and low for the right female agent to go undecover, Sandra is chosen. The pagent head Candice Bergen finds it unbelievable and let Michael Caine, a renowed pagent makeover expert to transform her in time for the job.
Sandra have to go through all the preparations in her stride. They narrow down a suspect Miss Rhode Island (Heather Burns) and in the girl talk, Sandra know she's out. The others caught the mysterious threat but nobody listen to Sandra plea.
Candice and her son is behind all these because she got fired after serving so long for the pagent. The crown will be replace with their version that contains bomb. Sandra is now on her own and she got into the top 5 through her own effort.
When they were about to leave, Benjamin got to know some unknown facts about Candice from Michael and head back to help Sandra. When Heather is crown the winner, Sandra tries to snatch it in a funny tussle, the remote drop and Candice activate it after Sandra manage to swing it away.
In a private party, Sandra is whisk up stage by the fellow pagents and receive thanks from all. She is crown Miss Congeniality.
