Review of Miss Congeniality (2000) by Elizabeth M — 18 Jan 2011
How it hurts my soul that my beloved Miss Congeniality has fared so badly amongst reviewers. Yes, it's cheesy, but as soon as you accept it for what it is - a chick flick - you can start to realise what an amazing chick flick it is! My hero, Sandra Bullock, is charming (Oh I love the word charming.
..) and the script full of hidden little bubbles of hilarity. I realise I am completely biased, this film and I have shared an intimate relationship over the years. Through arguments and break-ups, failures and mistakes, losing loved ones or that silly little time of the month - Gracie has been there.
I've lost count how many times I have seen this film. I could, if you would like me to, act the whole thing out for you. So, mock if you must, but in my eyes Miss Congeniality is just wonderful.
