Review of Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) by Rowan G — 29 Sep 2007
An absolute masterpiece! Like several great films in one : visually amazing renditions of some of Mishima's best stories, interspersed with a neat little doco about him, and an incredible re-enactment of his final act. And Glass actually wrote his score for this movie - hence countless others have just borrowed it for their big climaxes (ie. Truman Show).
Ken Ogata is rivetting. Schrader has to be one of Hollywood's most under-rated or unknown director/writers.
