Review of Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) by Alex B — 04 Jan 2009
Schrader juxtaposes the life of Mishima with his work in this brilliant study of what it means to be an artist in mind and body. The combination of painterly imagery, a stunning score by Glass and intense performances left me breathless for the entire two hours.
Perhaps the most complete biopic ever made.
