Review of Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) by David S — 15 Nov 2011
Beautifully done, Shrader's Mishima takes every right turn in its portrayal of writer/imperialist/dreamer/madman. With that many /'s, you know he's a complicated figure. I could easily go on about the intricate plot structure, emotive cinematography, excellent acting, etc.
Instead, I'll just urge you to watch it. Then, read about Mishima and watch it again.
