Review of Misery (1990) by Bailey B — 13 Jul 2010
Misery is a beautifully told story that was turned into a movie that stays true to the book's story! Author of the Misery series Paul Sheldon gets caught in a car wreck and gets taken in by Annie Wilkes, his 'number one fan'. After asking for Paul's permission to read the manuscript for the latest Misery novel (not yet released), she finds, to her disappointment, that the Misery girl had died. First, she makes Paul burn the manuscript, then, after various escape plans, chops his legs off with an ax. By the end of the movie, Paul is re-writing the book to please Annie, but he has a secret plan to save his original manuscript.
Probably the best King film adaption yet!
