Review of Misery (1990) by Ian R — 30 May 2010
I don't know why it took me 20 years to watch this incredible movie! I started buying Stephen King stories on VHS at the age of 15 but never seem to have found this one, until I rented it last weekend.
Kathy Bates is so scary in this film she more than deserves her Oscar. The plot may be a little bit predictable but one needs to wait until the very end to see who will die. But the entire movie is damn exciting, you just feel that something terrible is going to happen. It's simply never boring.
Next to Dolores Claiborne and The Shining maybe the best Stephen King on film so far.
