Review of Misery (1990) by Amjad A — 01 Sep 2011
Kathy Bates delivers the performance of her life and she without a doubt deserved the oscar for her spectacular portrayal of the crazed nurse named "Annie" who is obsessed with Paul Sheldon, who writes her favourite novels.
She was an absolute perfect fit to play that part. It just seems so funny that a horror film which was made on such a small budget and was made back in the early 90's turns out to make more money and be more successful than all that big budget, crap, torture porn horror that we see today.
This film was just so perfectly done and Rob Reiner really did Stephen King justice.. The acting is perfect and the delivery of dialouge from Bates is meancing and equally brilliant. Misery is like the Carrie on the 90's, it is sharp, intelligent, and will leave you jumping out of your chair.
Despite the fact the movie does take a while to kick off, once it does, you will be sorry you ever questioned the film. A MUST HAVE.
