Review of Misery (1990) by Sidney S — 27 Apr 2012
An intense and creepy psychological thriller based on the novel from Stephen King. Misery is a great film based on obsession, psychosis and the will to live. James Caan is brilliant as writer Paul Sheldon whom after a car accident in a blizzard winds up in the care of a psychotic obsessed fan played in a scene stealing performance by Oscar Winner Kathy Bates.
The film is gripping, exhausting and thrilling. Caan truly shows the character's helplessness and his will to escape. The film is one of the best King adaptions and showcases some stellar performances and a creepy climax.
