Review of Miracles from Heaven (2016) by Pat F — 23 Mar 2016
It is a good thing that faith based Christian movies are being made more frequently, and that they are done pretty well these days. The latest is Miracles from Heaven about a girl who suffers a chronic digestive condition and is cured after she falls 30 feet, hits her head and says she visits heaven.
Jennifer Garner is a little much in this movie, but it does have moments of real emotion. What I really like most about the movie is that it doesn't bang you on the head with bible thumping message, in fact I would say the opposite.
Instead I think it shows true feelings of doubt that we all have in times of crisis, and how this family dealt with them. The movie isn't preaching to us to simply have faith and all will be well.
Instead the true message is that life has true uncertainty and to cherish all that we have. For me, that message made up for some normal faults that I would have with this movie and makes it worth seeing.
