Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Kirk K — 15 Jun 2009
This is a case of a good movie that could have been great. The cast was a great one, with seasoned actors such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt, John Turturro, Laz Alonso, Michael Ealy, and Derek Luke. All of these actors did a decent job, but they weren't given a whole lot of material to work with.
Certain parts of this film were fantastic, but when you make a movie that is almost 3 hours and has a multitude of subtitles, it has to be amazing. Spike Lee did an alright job with this film and it is definately worth seeing.
But "Miracle at St. Anna" just falls short of being truly great.
