Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Antony M — 03 Jul 2011
When I became aware of this film I thought "that sounds awesome, how did it pass me by?" I then acquired a copy and very quickly found out the answer to that question. It's a shame cause the first 10-15 minutes are pretty interesting, then the flashback starts and it's Band of Brothas (come on that's good wordplay), but a really shit Band of Brothas.
Some of the cast are great actors, but it quickly starts to look and feel like a making of a war movie rather than a war movie - and that's never a good thing. Failed to make the end to be honest.
There's one hilarious bit where one of the soldiers picks up a wee kid who looks like a rag-doll. Why does he look like a rag-doll? Because it blatantly is a rag-doll. Really bad film making.
