Review of Millions (2005) by Stephen C — 26 Feb 2009
If you thought Danny Boyle was overdue an Oscar then this film proves how good a director he really is .
When a large sack of Money Lands on Damians hideaway he thinks its agift from god and with the aid of some saints he tries to do only good with the money.
His Brother Antony on the other hand sees only a mad spending spree before the Money becomes useless and begins to question his brothers sainty in wanting to use the money to help people.
The 2 child leads here are great and Boyle has a knack for getting a good performance out of them and a natrual one too.
Frank Cottrell Boyces delivers a great script full of tederness and Humour and the adults in the film never overpower the film as a whole.
It may not have a serious mesage but at its heart is a simple story of what you would do when presented with a situation that these boys face.
A real undersated winner and another cracking film in Boyles canon of work.
