Review of Million Dollar Arm (2014) by Maksim B — 23 Jan 2015
Not a bad sports biopic, but I wish it had focused more on cricket, as Hamm's attitude/ignorance at the start of the film is unfortunately too common in the USA. Sure, it may be true, but I'd love to see the reverse - some baseball players try to make it in cricket! Hamm's good, but doesn't really seem to do too much - same for Mandvi, Bell, Paxton & Arkin - so it's up to the three Indians (Amit, Rinku & Danesh) to display the innocence/courage/heart.
Obvious ending and some small hurdles along the way, but overall it's a solid feel-good sports film.
