Review of Million Dollar Arm (2014) by Dave R — 22 May 2014
Sort of odd that they bring out this 'feel good' flic in the middle of Monster Action Season but the Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone turned out in force anyway. This included the Chatterly Triplets (in back of me) the I"m Hard Of Hearing So I Shout twins (in front of me) and the Jappertons (beside me).
But I still liked it fairly well. I could have been a bit shorter, but all in all a good movie and I left feeling happy. I was especially impressed with Lake Bell who normally does 'voice over' rolls.
She's a very pleasant looking women with a lot of talent. Once the director (Craig Gillespie) let Jon Hamm lose the frenzied money grubber act he was pretty good. It's always a treat to watch Alan Arkin and Pill Paxton work.
Worth the time and money. . .especially for the great scenery of India.
