Review of Miller's Crossing (1990) by Ed A — 03 Jul 2009
This Coen brothers movie is almost cartoonish in its cliched approach to the 20's gangster genre but the dialogue is so precise and consistent and the acting so intense that the effect is dark and engaging.
All of the characters are so well played that even the most ridiculous situations seem plausible. Beautifully photographed with every shot carefully and creatively crafted this movie is a true work of art.
