Review of Miller's Crossing (1990) by Joseph S — 29 Jan 2009
"What's the rumpus?".
I waited way too long to see this, it's got all the things that make Coen brothers movies worth watching, the dialogue, music, and inventive cinematography, doesnt get nearly enough credit for its skill. The "Oh Danny Boy" Tommy-Gun, scene was awesome. I like stylized rapid fire dialogue, and this has it in spades. Generally I'm not a big fan of gangster films, but this has enough cinematic force and strong points to make me forget all that.
The lines that sums it all up, "Its a matter of ethics. You start with these double crosses, and where does it end?".
I could watch this again and again.
