If you have a fetish for hats (particularly fly gangster 1930s hats or fedoras) this is the film for you. I noticed a frequency of hats or colloquialisms about hats ie "are you giving me the high hat!?" so I looked up the script. the word 'hat' appears 50+ times. if you have purchased or rented a DVD copy of this film you will notice the menu credits are that of a hat wistfully being carried by a gentle zephyr.
A notable scene is ed blowing away his opponents with a tommy gun to the emerald isle's classic - 'danny boy'.
It is also nice to see a steve buscemi in the springtime of his salad days in a film correlating with the same time period as his more recent work in boardwalk empire.
