Review of Miller's Crossing (1990) by Clint T — 13 Dec 2009
Quite brilliant. This is an attempt at gangster crime genre by the Coen brothers, and how well they pull it off ! A little hard to follow in first viewing mainly because of the long conversations (essental though they are ot the plot) and the number of interacting characters, it still entertains thanks to some great sequences of action, dark humour and cinematography. Acting is top-notch by everyone with Gabriel Byrne standing out as the stoic, cynical, man of brains. Some good cameos too by close associates of the Coen brothers if you can spot them.
Bernie: "Look into your heart !!". (gunshot).
