Review of Millennium Actress (2002) by Jeff B — 09 Jan 2010
Very good Japanese animated film about an aging actress who tells an interviewer about her life and her lost love she kept searching for over her career. Entertaining and clever, it's not the typical romantic animated film.
I love the way the interviewer and the cameraman take part in her narration, and the way all of her films are pretty much a reconstruction of her meeting with the rebel she fell in love with. The animation is excellent and the score is perfect.
There are so many great scenes, especially the ending.
