Review of Milk? (2012) by Pablo V — 09 Jan 2012
A very relevant film in light of california's controversial prop 8. but beyond that it is an amazing example of tolerance and patience in the face of hatred and bigotry. sean penn immersed himself in this role and came out as harvey milk himself.
milk is a personification of a human being a human - showing care and attention not just to homosexuals (which he was) but to people from all walks of life. james franco is just as impressive playing milk's partner.
an impressive return to form for gus van sant (whose followers thought he may have gone "too arty" and "too indie" since the success of good will hunting). be ready to be inspired.
