I saw the movie "life and times of harvey milk" in which this movie references as source material and inspiration. milk doesn't duplicate the content but offers a different view of many of the same events.

sean penn truly is a remarkable actor. much of the life and times movie was made up of real life footage and I think that penn has done great justice to the real man in his character. some 30 years later it's kind of sad that we are still fighting for social equality.

I wonder if harvey's message of tolerance for all will ever actually be heard by the masses.
