There are a few things I liked about this, It's good that it didn't portray the protagonist as a flawless superhero but like Van Sant's recent works the film is exaggeratedly simplified & you just can feel a shadow of conflicts & overall the whole thing is boring , And I must say this that even if you can get over Sean Penn recieving the oscar & not Mickey Rourke, giving the best screenplay oscar to Dustin Lance Black for this & not to Martin McDonagh for In Bruges is a joke.
