Review of Milk (2008) by Jasonw. — 12 Dec 2008
An amazing piece of film. The movie manager to cover a large span of time in a short period, glossing over uninteresting episodes and focusing in on the events that made Harvey Milk who he is. Everyone gives great performances, but Sean Penn seems such at ease with this character that you don't see Penn anymore at the end of the movie.
It's a heartfelt portrait of a person who is a leader of an important political movement. You feel like you know Milk at the end, and you wish he was still alive today, fighting the good fight.
