Review of Mikey and Nicky (1976) by Will R — 28 Mar 2009
The most fantast film on the subject of friendship ever made. Elaine May takes on the idea of betrayal between friends to new depths and comes out with something that hits hard. Both men love each other, there's some underlying tensions between the two, things aren't as good as they used to be, one of them lets it get to him and when he realizes how petty it is and how its more his fault than the other's it's too late.
I had to tell my friends I loved them after this ended. Who cares if you can see the boom guy? The assisstant director? If you're paying attention to them, you shouldn't be watching this kind of film.
