Review of Midsommar (2019) by Thatdanner — 18 Jul 2019
God, this movie was slow. The 2.5 hour runtime is crazy long for what it is. Though the acting is good, the only relief is Will Poulter's clever one-liners and decent acting. The rest of the movie is steaming garbage.
Everybody in the theatre laughed at what scenes were meant to be horrifying, and the weird premise is so off-putting. There is no plot twist that isn't foreseeable from the beginning. This film is not nearly as good as Hereditary and should be skipped.
If the boredom doesn't get you first, the laughable writing will.
