Review of Midnight Run (1988) by Rob E — 18 Dec 2008
I just watched this again for the first time in at least 10 years. I had completely forgotten how funny it was. I have no idea why Grodin and DeNiro didn't do more films together because they play off each other perfectly in this.
That said, I'm glad they didn't make a sequel to this story. Other awesome performances include Dennis Farina as the mob boss that's out to silence Grodin's character before he can testify and Yaphet Kotto's as FBI Agent Mosely who's trying to bring him in so he can.
And because this was made in the golden era before CGI, you'll get to see some pretty cool live car chases and stunts. I've never wanted an early 80's GMC Jimmy more in my life. Best line: "Marvin! Look out!".
