Review of Midnight Movie (2008) by Jack G — 13 Dec 2009
Wasted potential. I rented it hoping it might deliver something - it's premise borrowed from a great Are You Afraid of the Dark episode where Nosferatu comes out of the screen to attack the audience - but it's really just a lot of unimaginative kills (with one exception) and a lot of characters we can't really give a shit about.
It also breaks some of its own set rules in the last several minutes about how people from the 'real world' go into the killer's film. The rip-offs of Texas Chainsaw and Psycho were also uninspired, but I could've lived with that if the filmmaker presented something else with the killer or kills or characters.
